Back in the land of the happy, here's something I was meaning to stick online from last week. It probably means nothing to anyone who happens to stumble across this subsector of the net, but it's my corner and I'll do what I please with it. So there. I said it. What are you gonna do about it? (Though something tells me I shouldn't alienate my audience of one, which would mean I would pretty much offend myself out of visiting my own blog... man, I am a hard character to deal with...)
For some odd reason, this pic cracks me up each time I look at it. That might be because I'm so very easily amused, or it might be because not many people would truly rejoice at the opening of a Electronics Boutique. I know I wouldn't, though I would definitely consider similar fits of joy if any store larger than the size of a milkbar opened in my neck of the woods. I suppose I might freak out if a JB HiFi opened nearby, then I'd spend every other moment and dollar there for sure... imagine all the CDs I could buy... 'drools over keyboard'
Though on a slightly discouraging off topic piece of stinging, hard hitting social commentary (for which I am certainly known from time to time, take that 60 Minutes!), we only managed two photos before some hired goon from mall security came along and told us we weren't allowed to take pictures inside the mall. Is it just me, cos I'm sure it didn't always used to be this way. Are times so tense in the days of our war on terrorism that people aren't even allowed to celebrate the opening of a new video game store? I mean, look at my friend in the picture and then consider myself here. The terrorists have apparently taken to appearing in a new, unfamiliar form: geeky bespectacled Asian youths bumming around a shopping centre! In the middle of a suburb with a moderately high proportion of Asians! Oh, the humanity!
For the benefit of any government agencies who might be reading this, I should note that this blog is purely of a satirical nature and does not reflect my actual views on security measures in these uncertain modern times. (As we all know, satire is one of the lowest forms of wit, alongside sarcasm and locally produced variety programming) I'm sure the world will be a much nicer place once all of the Middle East is subdued and all its resources extracted for the benefit of everyone else... oh wait, there I go again... it's so easy to get sidetracked, isn't it? Anywho, that's enough from me for now, will speak later if I haven't been silenced by the good men of shopping mall security...
